Park welcomes students of the Maré Olímpica Project

On November 23, the UFRJ Science Park welcomed a group of students from schools at the Maré favela community in Rio de Janeiro. The initiative is part of a project called “Maré Olímpica” organized by resident companies of the Park and whose goal is to stimulate student participation in the Brazilian Olympiad of Mathematics in public schools. During the tour students were able to learn about the Park’s innovation environment; they visited research centers of companies DELL EMC, Siemens and Lab Oceano (Laboratory for Ocean Technology); and they attended lectures given by representatives of small and medium-sized companies such as Promec, Twist and Aquafluxus.
