On November 19, professor Vicente Ferreira took office as the new CEO of the UFRJ Science Park during a ceremony held at the Rodolfo Paulo Rocco auditorium, at the UFRJ Center for Health Sciences (CCS). The UFRJ Rector, professor Denise Pires de Carvalho, the Vice- Rector, professor Carlos Frederico Leão Rocha, the Park’s CEO from 2015-2019, professor José Carlos Pinto and founder of the Park and current Technology director of Faperj, Mauricio Guedes, participated in the event.
“A great joy and butterflies in my stomach”, this was how Vicente Ferreira described the challenge of taking office as the Park’s CEO to manage it for the next four years. During the ceremony, he made compliments to the work done by previous managers and highlighted the huge potential for future accomplishments that the Park has. According to him, the initial priorities of his management will be to strengthen the communication channels with the stakeholders, to reinforce the role of an open lab of the Park and to expand the efficiency of the management processes.
